Why WorkRepublik
Offices are too often treated as a surface to decorate. Yet they are a tool for organisation, management, coordination, culture and attractiveness, and a real-estate asset that commits you for years. WorkRepublik was born of this conviction: you cannot transform offices without understanding the work they house.
The name has a history. In 2013, WorkRepublik was a think tank co-founded by Quentin Piepszownik: a round table held by Arseg (the French facilities managers' association) in Paris, the Ring des idées debate in Geneva, a cover story in the Swiss magazine Context, and an award-winning space in Paris, Chez Imfusio. Today it is the brand under which he carries out his engagements.
The brand's signature says it in three words: People, Space, Progress. People and organisation first, then space, and finally measured progress.
An architect on your side
Quentin Piepszownik is a state-qualified architect, licensed to practise design and site supervision in his own name (HMONP), and registered with the Order of Architects of Île-de-France (Ordre des architectes) under number 077297. He practises as a sole proprietorship (EI); WorkRepublik is the brand he devotes to workplaces. He personally leads each engagement, from analysis to handover.
His practice also covers regulations for buildings open to the public (ERP), planning authorisations, feasibility studies and tender documents: all subjects that weigh on an office project as soon as it receives members of the public, changes its designated use or affects a building's envelope. For Paris, applications for buildings open to the public are covered in detail on dossier-erp-paris.fr.
How we work
- A written engagement, with its deliverables and fees, before work begins.
- Sourced facts, assumptions stated as such, no productivity promises.
- Where the project requires it, complementary expertise (engineering consultants, acoustics, cost consultancy, ergonomics) is entrusted to independent partners, named in the engagement proposal and contracted as such.
- No financial interest in the works or the furniture specified.

Press, awards and talks
2013: WorkRepublik, a think tank on work.
Before it became the brand under which Quentin Piepszownik carries out his commissions, WorkRepublik was a think tank he co-founded. As early as 2013, its positions (space as a management tool, work before square metres) were being debated in Paris, in Geneva and in the Swiss press.

Press
“The silent revolution in companies”
Cover story of issue no. 11 of Context, the magazine for commercial employees published by SEC Suisse: “Office design: the silent revolution shaking companies” (“Aménagement des bureaux : la silencieuse révolution ébranle les entreprises”). The article on pages 6 and 7 presents the principles of the WorkRepublik movement through an interview with Quentin Piepszownik, co-founder of the WorkRepublik firm.

Extracts from the interview published by Context
“Yes, space has become a management tool.”
“When you change the space of a company or a local authority by answering only the question of rationalising square metres, you brush aside the questions that are being raised.”
“You respond to the short-term demand, you lay out the desks in rows, you plan, you move. And see you next time.”
“Creating, analysing, gathering, distributing and deciding are qualities and functions that some people are now asked to carry out behind a desktop measuring 160 by 80 centimetres.”
